Resumen: The Consumer Safety and Health Network Regional Workshop on Risk Assessment and the Inter-American Rapid Alerts System was held with great success

With the presence of more than twenty countries represented by their Consumer, Metrology and Health authorities, competent in monitoring the safety of consumer products, the Regional Workshop on the Substantive and Procedural Aspects of the Inter-American Rapid Alerts System with emphasis on Risk Assessment, organized by the Consumer Safety and Health Network (CSHN) in the Head Quarters of the OAS in Washington, D.C. from July 21st to July 25th, 2014, ended with great success.

Consumer Safety and Health Network will celebrate its first plenary meeting in Brasilia

The first meeting of the CSHN Plenary will be held in Brasilia, Brazil, on September 4th and 5th, 2014. The meeting, of annual character according to the resolution AG/RES. 2830 (XLIV-O/14), will define the authorities for the Management Committee, the CSHN future work strategy, and the implementation of the first stage of the Inter-American Rapid Alerts System (SIAR).

The Ibero-American Forum of Governmental Consumer Protection Agencies and the CHSN continue to strengthen ties of cooperation

The Consumer Safety and Health Network (CSHN) will be introduced by the General Secretariat of the OAS during the eighth meeting of the Ibero-American Forum of Governmental Consumer Protection Agencies (FIAGC), to be held on August 28th and 29th in Bogota, organized by the Superintendency of Industry and Commerce of Colombia (SIC) who will assume the Chair of the Forum at that time.

Countries of the Americas will present advances in CSHN at the OECD Ninth Session on Consumer Products Safety

Between October 23rd and 24th, 2014, at the city of Paris, France, the 9th Session of the Working Party on Consumer Products Safety of the OECD will be held. During the meeting, authorities of numerous member countries of the OAS participating in the CSHN, will display the progress achieved at a national and hemispheric level on consumer product safety, with an emphasis on the implementation of the first stage of the Inter-American Rapid Alerts System (SIAR).
