  • Consumer Product
    1. Product, including its components, parts or accessories, that may reasonably be expected to be obtained by an individual to be used for non‐commercial purposes, including for domestic, recreational and sports purposes, and includes its packaging".     2.(A)ny article, or component part thereof, produced or distributed (i) for sale to a consumer for use in or around a permanent or temporary household or residence, a school, in recreation, or otherwise, or (ii) for the personal use, consumption or enjoyment of a consumer in or around a permanent or temporary household or residence, a school, in recreation, or otherwise.     3. Any product - including in the context of providing a service - which is intended for consumers or likely, under reasonably foreseeable conditions, to be used by consumers even if not intended for them, and is supplied or made available, whether for consideration or not, in the course of a commercial activity, and whether new, used or reconditioned.
    This definition shall not apply to second-hand products supplied as antiques or as products to be repaired or reconditioned prior to being used, provided that the supplier clearly informs the person to whom he supplies the product to that effect; (…) 2001/95/CE Directive of the European Council and Parliament, relative to General Product Safety, article 2.
  • Dangerous Product

  • Hazard
    (A)ny unreasonable hazard — existing or potential — that is posed by a consumer product during or as a result of its normal or foreseeable use and that may reasonably be expected to cause the death of an individual exposed to it or have an adverse effect on that individual’s health — including an injury —.
